About AEU
Learning, networking, and knowledge sharing across universities
AEU – Tailored Continuing Education for the University Sector
AEU develops targeted courses, theme days, seminars, and conferences for staff at Danish universities.
We create value through timely knowledge, inspiration, and strong networks – strengthening both the individual and the university sector as a whole.
AEU is overseen by a Board within the framework of Universities Denmark, ensuring that all activities are strategically relevant and of high quality.
About AEU
AEU is a collaboration between the eight Danish universities, organized under Universities Denmark.
Purpose
AEU designs and delivers tailored continuing education for university staff. Our activities provide professional knowledge, inspiration, cross-sector insights, and strong networks that strengthen both individual competencies and the sector as a whole.
Vision
AEU aims to be the preferred provider of continuing education, professional development, and networking activities in the Danish university sector. We create value by offering relevant, timely, and high-quality programmes – developed in collaboration with universities and external experts, and delivered through thorough preparation and professional execution.
Principles
AEU’s activities combine contributions from internal and external speakers with peer-to-peer learning and reflection. When relevant, ministries, agencies, or other partners are invited to ensure breadth and perspective. Learning formats are designed for direct applicability to participants’ own practice.
Governance
AEU is overseen by a Board under Universities Denmark, which sets the strategic direction and ensures that activities are relevant and of high quality.

Planning Groups
The professional content of AEU’s conferences, seminars, and courses is developed in close collaboration with Planning Groups – networks of university staff who contribute their knowledge and experience. This ensures that activities address real challenges and deliver strong outcomes for participants.

Secretariat
AEU is run by a dedicated Secretariat that develops, organizes, and administers all AEU activities. The Secretariat works closely with Planning Groups and other stakeholders to ensure that every activity meets the needs of the university sector.

Activities and Participation
Each year, AEU offers a wide range of activities – courses, seminars, theme days, conferences, and webinars – designed to strengthen skills, share knowledge, and foster collaboration across Danish universities. Activities are open to staff at member universities of Universities Denmark. Staff from other higher education institutions may participate when space allows.
Financial Basis
AEU’s activities are financially self-sustaining and planned on a sound, sustainable basis.
